Providing You Solutions
Our experienced staff is trained and equipped to see almost any kind of adult sleep problem. Care and testing is provided by our team of physicians, registered sleep technologists and home equipment providers. Typically, an overnight sleep study is required to assess your condition.
State-of-the-Art Testing
Our team uses a variety of sophisticated (and painless) tools to evaluate your condition, including:
- Sleep Studies...also called polysomnograms or PSGs. This test records your physical state during various stages of sleep and wakefulness. It provides data that is essential in evaluating sleep and sleep-related complications. PSG can include monitoring of extended EEG (brain waves), oxygen saturations, airflow, abdominal and chest wall movements. During this testing, you may be fitted with a special breathing mask or equipment to help improve your sleep condition.
- Multiple sleep latency tests...measure how long it takes to fall asleep and monitor sleep patterns through a series of naps. This test requires an overnight stay, followed by a series of naps throughout the next day.
- Maintenance of wakefulnes tests...patients are instructed to sit quietly and remain awake for a period of time. The test is performed to assess a person's ability to stay awake.
Follow-up Care
After careful analysis of your personal history and sleep test results, our sleep health team provides you a follow-up plan for care. We'll work with you to determine the best course of treatment and management of your condition.
Treatment options may include home equipment such as CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure equipment), medication, lifestyle and behavioral therapy, and counseling. Many of these options will be available to you the same day you complete your sleep test.
Your referring physician will receive a complete report of your diagnosis and treatment plan. They will play a vital role in helping you manage your condition. The Sleep Health Center is always available to consult with your physician on treatment questions or modifications.
